About the place
The house, designed by the architect N. C. Mihăescu, is named after Maria Mihăescu, 'Mița Biciclista', said to have been the first woman in Bucharest to ride a bicycle. It lay in ruins for years, was strengthened and reopened to the public in November 2022. The brasserie and pastry shop are on the ground floor, and the cocktail bar and the historic salon, with its original stucco and mirrors, are upstairs.
The cooking is French brasserie style: omelettes and croissants in the morning, onion soup and Caesar salad at lunch, beef tartare, boeuf bourguignon and steak frites in the evening. On Google, guests praise the pastries, the onion soup and the building, while a few say it is hard to get a table without a booking.
