It is a category A listed monument and has 4.4 on Google from more than 42,200 reviews, the most of any place in the Calea Victoriei area.
About the place
The garden stands on the site of a former pond. Its name comes from 'cișmegiu', the official in charge of the city's public fountains; one of them lived here, next to a fountain built in 1779. In 1847 the Viennese landscape gardener Wilhelm Mayer began laying out the garden, the lake was dug after 1848 and the official opening came in 1854.
The Writers' Rotunda has 12 busts of Romanian writers, among them Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creangă and I. L. Caragiale. The park also holds the Monument to the French Heroes, carved by Ion Jalea and unveiled in 1922, and the Sissi Stefanidi fountain. On Google, visitors praise the lake, the shade and the calm, while some complain about dirty benches and pigeons.
