About the place
The palace on Doamnei Street was built between 1915 and 1923 for the Marmorosch Blank Bank to plans by the architect Petre Antonescu, in a Neo-Romanian style with Byzantine and Gothic elements; the interior was decorated by the painter Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck. After the bank failed in 1931 the building passed to the state, and after 1989 it housed banks. In 2018 a Lithuanian hotel group bought it and turned it into a hotel in Marriott's Autograph Collection.
Rooms and suites have Art Deco-inspired décor and keep period details. The hotel has the Blank Restaurant, a lobby bar, the MBB Coffee café, The Vault bar in the old bank vault, and a spa with an indoor pool, sauna and gym. It holds 9.2 on Booking from 4,012 reviews; guests give 9.7 for location and 9.5 for cleanliness and comfort.
