About the place
The hotel occupies part of the buildings of the Macca-Villacrosse Passage, an ensemble listed as a category A monument. The passage, designed by the architect Felix Xenopol and finished in 1891, is shaped like an elongated horseshoe: two arms roofed with yellowish glass start from Calea Victoriei and join towards Eugeniu Carada Street, next to the National Bank. The arm towards Lipscani is named after Xavier Villacrosse, the city's chief architect in the 1840s and 1850s.
The rooms were designed by Hamid Nicola Katrib in bright colours and have a free minibar, an espresso machine, Frette linen and large bathrooms, some with a separate bath and shower. There is an Italian restaurant on the ground floor, and the passage is lined with cafés and bars. It holds 9.2 on Booking from 1,607 reviews, with 9.7 for location and 9.5 for comfort.
