About the place
The church is in Tunari village, in Tunari commune, which borders Otopeni to the east, about 6 km by road from the centre of Otopeni. The national monuments list records it as the church of the former boyar court of the postelnic (court chamberlain) Constantin Cantacuzino, dated 1742 and 1890, and lists it as an ensemble of local value.
It is an Orthodox church dedicated to Saint Nicholas, next to Tunari's central park and the commune's football ground. About 400 metres away, near the Tunari town hall, stands the First World War memorial, also a listed monument.
