About the place
The collections are at the Fundația Snagov headquarters on the main road through Snagov village, in two traditional buildings with three rooms. They hold more than 1,200 items: old postcards and photographs, maps, books, coins, pottery, fishing and carpentry tools and local textiles.
The themes run from the archaeology and folk life of the area to the Snagov, Țigănești and Căldărușani monasteries, Vlad the Impaler, water sports on the lake, the communist years at Snagov and the lake's nature reserve. The museum has an audio guide, multimedia presentations and old films. The foundation also runs events such as the Snagov Culture Festival, held in July 2026.
