About the place
éto was opened in 2025 by chef Sorin Stoica, architect Claudiu Ionescu and entrepreneur Andrei Boghiu, in a 1912 villa designed by the architect Paul Smărăndescu. The house kept its proportions, and the interior was planned together with the cooking: a ceiling of willow woven in Piatra Neamț, textiles woven and hand-embroidered in Sibiu, handmade ceramics and metalwork, and beeswax vessels shaped in the restaurant itself. There are only 40 seats, and the kitchen is open to the dining room. In 2025 the restaurant won 'Best Opening' at the Romanian Hospitality Awards.
Sorin Stoica worked in Copenhagen, at Noma and Jordnær, before returning to Romania. The tasting menu changes from time to time and always starts from a story: the 2026 menu, 'Acasă' ('Home'), is built on the tastes of his childhood, from ostropel and potato stew to Danube fish. Many of the vegetables come from Grădina Corbilor, and lángos is always on the à la carte menu, with a topping that changes each season. On Google and ialoc.ro, guests praise the unexpected flavour combinations, the cocktails and the service.
